When groups visit The Powerhouse, the place crackles with energy! If you’d like to bring 16-30 people to enjoy our exhibits, please let us know in advance. We offer a discounted rate per person for these visits, with one free adult for every five children. You can add on a cool science demo for a modest additional fee.
To schedule a group visit, please email heather@powsci.org or call our front desk at 970-259-9234. An initial deposit at the scheduling time is required.

Paleontology: Explore fossils, tracks, tools and dinosaurs through an interactive dig.
Space: Launch into outer space! Design and build rockets while gaining a better understanding of Space!
Catapult Challenge: Examine the predictability of motion in a catapult challenge!
Slimey States of Matter: Make your own slime and examine states of matter!
Wonderful Water: Design, build & test the buoyancy of a boat!
Powerhouse picks a lesson: Reach out to us about specific lesson standards you would like us to pair a lesson with, or we can choose a surprise from our library of lessons!
Can’t visit us? No problem! We’ll bring the excitement to you! Our educators come equipped with everything needed for an engaging STEAM experience in your own space.

5th Day Programs
5th Day Programs offered by The Powerhouse provide valuable opportunities for children who have Fridays off from school to continue their learning journey. Programs teach lessons from our STEAM Lesson Catalog in Ignacio, Mancos, Dolores, and Pagosa Springs.
We’ll bring a hands-on learning experience to your classroom. The cost is $150/hour plus mileage. Please contact us for more information. We look forward to working with your students!
Group Visits
If you’re interested in bringing a group of 16-30 individuals to experience our exhibits, please let us know in advance. We provide a discounted per-person rate ($7/person) for a two hour session. An initial deposit at the scheduling time is requested.

STEAM Roller Outreach
Bring The Powerhouse to you with a STEAM Roller visit! We have more than 30 standards-based STEAM lessons covering subjects as intriguing as paleontology and mystery substances. Each session includes core concepts such as literacy, data collection, model building, experimental design, and observational skills. Some even foster a “tinker” mindset.
