Powerhouse to Support Evacuated Families with Special Offerings

/, Press Releases/Powerhouse to Support Evacuated Families with Special Offerings

Durango, CO – The Powerhouse is committed to supporting families who have been impacted by the 416 Fire. To that end, the Board of Directors voted to offer free admission to the gallery to all evacuated families. To redeem this offer, families will be asked to show proof of residency in the evacuated area or evacuation credentials.

Additionally, the Powerhouse is offering scholarship support for its Camp Discovery program. Camp Discovery offers week-long science exploration camps for children ages 3 to 12 through the middle of August. The Powerhouse is discounting registration fees for evacuated families and also offers need-based scholarships upon request.

Many families have had their summer plans disrupted due to cancelled programs and limited access to recreation areas due to drought conditions and fire restrictions. Camp Discovery has a handful of spaces remaining for camps scheduled 8 of the next 9 weeks.

For more information on camps please visit https://powsci.org/programs/camp-discovery/ or call our Education Director at 970-259-9234 x106.
